Initial fire extinguishing training is a practical safety training course that follows the initial fire extinguishing concept used nationwide in Finland. The aim of the training is to make initial fire extinguishing a civic skill for everyone. In Finland, about 200,000 people complete initial fire extinguishing training every year.
After completing the training, the participant receives an AS1 card issued by SPEK (the Finnish National Rescue Association), which is valid for five (5) years. The duration of the training is only 2 hours, and anyone aged 12 or over can take part. Initial fire extinguishing training is also suitable for young people.
The main aim of the training is to give the participant practical initial fire extinguishing skills as well as important information on fire prevention and on self-preparedness. In this way, initial fire extinguishing training improves your ability to respond to fires.
In practical exercises you get to try out:
The exercises are supervised and safe. Safety is a priority in initial fire extinguishing training.
We organise initial fire extinguishing training across Finland both as open courses and as customised courses on request. Customised courses can also be held in other languages than Finnish, and the content can be adapted to the specific needs of an organisation or group.
