Occupational Safety Card training (classroom)
The Safety at Work card training provides official qualification for the Safety at Work card issued by the Safety and Health Centre (TTK). The goal of the training is to improve practical collaboration between client and supplier companies in the workplace and to reduce overlapping training in shared workplaces. The training is conducted as distance learning in Kotka, Lahti, Tampere, Oulu and in dozens of other cities, and it is suitable for all industries — including professional drivers — as part of a single professional qualification continuing education day.

What does the training include?
The training day provides basic information on, among other things, the following topics:
- Occupational health and safety responsibilities at a shared workplace
- Understanding the roles of actors
- Identifying stress factors
- Identification of hazards
- Risk management
- Induction into job duties
At the end of the day, a training-related exam is administered, which can be taken either electronically or as a paper exam form. The exam consists of true/false statements and can be retaken twice if necessary.
The information on the electronic card is updated in the register immediately after the training, so you can demonstrate your qualification at work during the same day.
Is the training suitable as further training for professional qualifications?
Yes — but only from the basic course. It is possible to obtain one (1) seven (7) hour professional qualification continuing education day from the Safety at Work card training. The training uses the training program ”As a driver in a shared workplace” approved by Traficom, registration number TRAFICOM/439311/05.03.07/2021.
Here's how you get a professional qualification mark:
- Tick the ”Trafi record” box on the registration form
- Enter your personal ID number in the field that appears next to it
- In addition to the course fee, we charge the Trafi registration fee of €13 (VAT 0%) and an office fee of €4 + VAT.
To be noted:
- Only a work safety card from the basic course receives a professional qualification mark — no refresher training
- The course can be held in any language the trainer masters, or with an interpreter
- When taking vocational training, the participant is always given a written certificate in accordance with Traficom’s requirements.
How long is the work safety card valid for?
Those who have participated in training receive an electronic safety card issued by the Finnish Work Safety Centre (TTK), which is valid for five years. As the validity period approaches, you can renew the card with a shorter refresher course (4 hours), provided that the previous card is still valid.
What is included in the price of the work safety card?
The price includes:
- Course supplies
- Safety at work booklet (in addition to the Finnish version, a summary version in a native language or another language if necessary)
- Registration in the Occupational Safety Card Search System
- Electronic mobile card
- Certificate of education, if applicable

What is the Occupational Safety Card training?

What does the training day include?
The training provides basic knowledge of the principles of occupational safety and health in a common workplace, the identification of risk and workload factors in work, the principles of safe and healthy working, and the importance of human activity for occupational safety. At the end of the day, an electronic/written exam is administered.
What if I don't pass the exam on the first try?
The test can be taken either electronically or as a paper test form, and it consists of 27 true/false statements. If the test fails the first time, it can be retaken twice if necessary.
How long is the work safety card valid for?
The work safety card is valid for five years after completing the training. As the validity period approaches, you can renew the card with a shorter, approximately four-hour refresher course, provided that the previous card is still valid.

Can I buy the training for another person?
Yes. You can add the information of the person participating in the training under the selected course when registering. You can register more than one person at once, or divide them into different days and different courses.

Yes. What is the difference between the basic course and the refresher training?
The basic course (7 h) is intended for those who do not yet have a card, and only that course qualifies for the professional qualification mark.
