Who is the person who has been guided?
A layman is a person who is neither an electrical industry professional nor a trained person. When an electrical industry professional guides a layman in a specific job task in a specific location, the layman becomes a guided person.
An instructed person understands the electrical hazards associated with their work and knows how to act safely in accordance with the given instructions. They do not perform electrical work themselves, but can work near electrical equipment or in auxiliary tasks where electricity must be considered a risk factor.
Who is the training suitable for?
The training is suitable for anyone who works in an area where there is a risk of exposure to electricity without being an electrical professional. The course is well suited for both orientation to the job and for regular maintenance of safety knowledge.
What does the course include?
The content goes through the essential aspects for a guided person in six main sections:
- The dangers of electricity and how to protect yourself from them
- General principles of the SFS 6002 standard
- Professional skills requirements and responsibilities in the electricity sector
- Operational measures and inspections
- Working near stressed parts
- Permitted electrical work for the general public and for guided individuals
What requirements does the course meet?
The course content meets the requirements of Annex X.6 of the electrical safety standard SFS 6002:2025 and the Electricity Safety Act (1135/2016) regarding electrical safety training.
How is the course conducted in practice?
You will receive the participation link in your email immediately after the course confirmation, and you can complete the training at your own pace. If you already have previous online course credits, you can continue the unfinished course directly from your own course list.
Once you have completed all the sections of the online course and passed the final exam, you will receive a qualification valid for five years. The electronic certificate can be downloaded immediately after the successful completion of the exam.
Is this suitable as continuing education for professional qualifications?
No. This course does not qualify for the continuing education credit for driver’s professional qualification.
Can I also get a physical card?
Yes, if you wish. The plastic card is available for an additional fee (15 € + VAT) at the time of ordering.
Is the course available in English?
Yes, the course is also available in an English version.
